Call for financial support
There are two possible lines of application for financial support. The first line of financial support is granted by the ESWW National and Local Organizing Committees. The second one is granted by the European Space Agency through its ESA Academy Conference Student Sponsorship programme. The two lines are not exclusive, and applicants may choose one or both according to their needs.
Participants who wish to apply to either lines for financial support must submit an abstract for oral or poster presentation. Please note that the deadline for oral abstract submission is 15th May 2026.
The deadline for both lines of application for financial support is 15th July, 2026 at 23:59 CEST.
The decision by the Selection Committee will be communicated by mid-August.
- ESWW National and Local Organizing Committees support
Support can include fee waiving, accommodation and/or travel support, depending on the available fundings.
Participants who wish to apply must be the contact author and the presenting author of their contribution, and they must submit an abstract by 15th May, 2026.
The LOC will, in due time, decide upon which applications will be funded, and on what level of support to be provided. All applicants will be informed of the decision thereafter.
Applicants must submit an application with the following content
- a CV,
- the abstract submitted to ESWW 2026
- a proof of registration at the university (corresponding to the Career Stage declared), or PhD diploma,
- a letter of motivation,
- a letter of recommendation (not required, but strongly recommended)

- ESA Academy Student Sponsorship
ESA Academy is pleased to sponsor up to 4 tertiary education students to attend the European Space Weather Week 2026 under the ESA Academy Conference Student Sponsorship programme. The sponsorship covers:
- the early‑bird student registration fee;
- up to EUR 350 for travel;
- up to EUR 375 for accommodation (up to 5 nights).
Reimbursements will be made via a single bank transfer after the event, upon submission of receipts.
Participants who wish to apply must be the contact author and the presenting author of their contribution.
Please note that the deadline for oral abstract submission is 15th May 2026.
To be eligible for an ESA Academy Student Sponsorship, students must fulfil the following criteria at the time of application:
- individually present an accepted contribution at the conference (oral presentation, poster, other);
- be minimum 18 years old at the time of the conference;
- be a citizen of an ESA Member State, Associate Member, or Canada;
- be enrolled as a student (Bachelor, Master, Doctorate) in a tertiary education academic programme (not graduating before the Conference);
- not benefit from an overlapping financial support to attend this conference, unless duly justified;
- agree with the conditions of the ESA Academy’s Privacy Policy.
Priority will be given to students who have less than 2 years of professional experience and have never taken part in an activity sponsored by the ESA Education Office.
